Shortly after announcing his new album Last Year Was Complicated via late-night Twitter spree, Nick Jonas released the first single, “Close” featuring Tove Lo. During the aforementioned spree, Nick said the song would be about “how I literally can’t open up and be vulnerable with someone,” which sounds absolutely true given that one of the most-repeated lyrics is “space is just a word made up by someone who’s afraid to get too close.”
Nick also released the above video for the song Friday morning, having previously promised that it would “require a few cold showers afterwards.” He’s a man of his word, because it is hot. Nick and Tove sit across from each other in an empty warehouse, their chairs pulled toward and away from each other by some unseen force of sexiness. Then their clothes start getting ripped off until all that’s left is flesh-colored rags, and before you know it, they’re rolling around on the floor doing a sensual interpretive dance. And finally, they kiss! Looks like they weren’t afraid to get too close after all, am I right? That warehouse was complicated.
